Chrome will look different in September
According to Google’s newest Chrome Enterprise release notes, the Chrome Browser is getting its biggest redesign in years with the release of Chrome 69 rolling out on September 4. You can already enable some of the changes in the current Chrome 68 release for both desktop and mobile.
Chrome will have a new design across all operating systems. The new features focus on Windows integration, security, and stability. Some of the highlights include Microsoft Windows 10 notification-center integration, touchpad gesture navigation on Windows, and autofill updates.
Visually the desktop version will be different with rounded corners on tabs, a bright color palette, and additional white shading for active tabs and windows.
The mobile version of Chrome on iOS also received a major redesign. The navigation controls are moving to the bottom of the screen, making one-handed use a lot easier or simplifying navigation on an extra tall display.
Other updates include reduced crashes caused by third-party software, full integration of the popular Password Alert extension and phasing out Flash support.
