Eddy Kenzo survives arrest over ‘People Power’ slogan

Singer Eddy Kenzo survived spending a night of 22 September in the coolers.

The “jubilation” singer was one of the musicians that graced Gravity Omutujju’s ‘Embuzi Zakutuude’ concert at Cricket Oval, in Lugogo.

According to sources, artistes were banned from buzzing the ‘People Power’ slogan and making political remarks while performing.

However, Eddy Kenzo chose not to play by the inflexible rules and midway his performance, he repeatedly chanted: ‘People Power’ sending wild cheers through the crowd.

As soon as he stepped off stage, security tasked him to explain his daring action but somehow, he somehow confused them and fled the venue before being arrested.
