What’s to come from Google on the 9th of October | Trendsmedia.

The Pixel 3, Google Home Hub, Pixel Slate, and a new Chromecast. These are just some of the devices expected to be revealed at Google’s third annual hardware event.

Google is expected to show off its next flagship smartphone, the Pixel 3 and its bigger brother, the 3 XL, on October 9. You can expect bigger screens, a notch, wireless charging, and a second selfie camera thanks to numerous leaks in the months leading up to the phone’s release. The Pixel phones are also set to come with a wireless charging stand that props the phone up while it charges to make the screen visible, almost like a docking station of old but wireless.

There are also rumors as to new Pixel Buds, the first earbuds to be made by Google back in 2017. They come with promises of “pristine sound quality and Google Assistant-fueled superpowers” according to ARS Technica, but whether they can deliver is yet to be seen, considering they weren’t so well received when they first came out.

The company is also launching a Google Assistant-powered Google Home, arguably a response to the Amazon Echo Show. After letting third parties handle the hardware for a number of years, Google is finally taking over their smart-display software and calling it Google Home Hub.

According to Android Police’s David Ruddock, the Pixel Slate Tablet looks like a new high-end tablet with a detachable keyboard could be introduced at the event. Rumours suggest it will support USB-C, have a 3000 x 2000 resolution, and a fingerprint sensor. There’s also speculation around it having 16GB of RAM and an Intel i7 processor.

There are rumours that the Pixelbook 2 will be unveiled. What exactly the difference will be compared to the original Pixelbook is unknown, but mostly there are talks of spec improvements like new processors and more RAM. Perhaps the biggest upgrade will be a 4K display, but whether this device will be announced on the 9th at all is still up in the air.

The Chromecast could also be getting an update since it’s been several years since the last one. It won’t be replacing the Chromecast Ultra because it doesn’t support 4K, but it might have improved Wi-Fi according to FCC filings.
