Redmi Note 8 goes offline, but with 3GB RAM | Trendsmedia.
Redmi Note 8 is now available to purchase through retail stores. Unlike online sellers, Xiaomi is offering a new 3GB RAM + 32GB storage variant of the Redmi Note 8 through offline stores. The new variant retails at Rs 9,799. For reference, the 4GB + 64GB storage model costs Rs 9,999, but it is only available to purchase through e-sellers. Xiaomi hasn’t revealed yet if it is planning to launch the new model on online stores.
Redmi Note 8 features a 6.3-inch FHD+ screen with a dot drop notch. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 chipset. The offline variant has 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage. It packs a 4,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. It runs MIUI 10 based on Android 9 Pie. However, it is now receiving the MIUI 11 update, which is still based on Android 9 Pie. It may be upgraded to Android 10 in the first quarter of 2020.
On the optics front, the Redmi Note 8 sports a quad rear camera setup: a 48MP Samsung GM1 sensor with f/1.79 lens + an 8MP Ultra-Wide lens + a 2MP depth sensor + a 2MP Macro lens. The 13MP front shooter is housed in the notch.
The Redmi Note 8 comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. It also comes with USB Type-C and a headphone jack. It comes bundled with 18W fast charger inside the retail box. The Redmi Note 8 also has support for dual-band Wi-Fi networks.
For the unaware, Redmi Note 8 with 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage costs Rs 9,999 whereas 6GB RAM +128GB storage model is priced at Rs 12,999. The Redmi Note 8 is available to purchase through flash sales online. Hence, Xiaomi could have brought the 3GB RAM + 32GB storage model to the offline market.
