Social Media users and enthusiasts who flocked Silver Springs Bugolobi on Saturday were treated to a one-day social media extravaganza as the Social Media Fest made its debut on the Kampala social scene.

The event was a magnet for different players in the digital space like bloggers, social media managers, influencers, and digital marketing practitioners among others who turned up for the many fun and unique engagements with the better part of the day being an interactive learning experience at the silent conference with topics relating to ICT, internet, branding on social media and much more being discussed.

“I am happy knowing that each and every one of us here now knows that they can use social media to make money through the discussions and other different social engagements we have had here today, watch out for our next edition, I promise you it will be bigger and better,” said Amon Baite, one of the Social Media Fest organisers.

With the learning and interactive discussions concluded, it was time to network and loosen up. Guests were treated to performances from several top Ugandan artistes as they unwound for the evening.

Revelers at the Social Media Fest

Micheal Kitanda, with his saxophone in tow, was the first on stage and had the crowd swaying to jazz melodies. His performance was followed up by Allan Toniks who got many on their feet and dancing as he performed his top hits like “Romance” “Sunday” “Yenze” “Beera Nange” and “Falling” a duet with Fille who followed next with a fiery performance, owning the stage and leaving the crowd musically satisfied long after she was done.
